Weddings: The
Importance Of A
Budget
________________________________
Wedding dresses have traditionally been based on the popular styles of
the day. Over the years trends in wedding dresses have evolved but the overall look of the dress has always
been kept soft and soothing for a beautiful bride of that particular era. As an example, in the 1920s,
wedding dresses were typically short in the front with a longer train in the back and were worn with cloche
-style wedding veils. Wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses always had unparalleled craftsmanship and
exceptional fit for the style of that day and time. There is a vast array of show-stopping wedding gowns and
special occasion dresses in both classic silhouettes and dramatic, haute couture designs can be found on the
market today. Wedding dresses are usually crafted from sumptuous fabrics of taffeta, soft satin, organza and
delicately trimmed with meticulous details of lace. Stunning crystals and beaded embroidery can add a
delightful finishing touch to any wedding gown. These various combinations of fabric and trimmed decoration
never fails to capture and present the aura of a truly stunning, regal bride.
Wedding dresses range from designer gowns that can cost thousands of
dollars to inexpensive wedding dresses made from your own two hands to hierloom wedding dresses passed down
from mother to daughter. Indeed! Choosing the right wedding gown for your wedding should be fun and not a
chore!
If you do not have a heirloom wedding gown or you are not going to
make one yourself then you might consider choosing a wedding vendor. Choosing wedding vendors can often be
confusing and frustrating, to say the least, especially without a pre-planned wedding budget. I, personally,
strongly, recommend that the first thing you do is (to) go over your finances, making sure that you do not
omit any expenditure.
Ultimately choose a wedding dress budget you are comfortable with and
can afford. Then, go online or visit your local yellow pages phone book and find a wedding vendor in your
area. Don't forget that a call to your local Chamber of Commerce can be a helpful resource. You might check
with a local church or wedding chapel, if your area has one, and ask who they might recommend as a good
wedding vendor. Once you have made a decision of the wedding vendor that you will be using you will give your
budget figure to him or her. From this figure your vendor will then be able to give you the opportunity to
choose from a variety of luxurious fabrics and beautiful styles in the color you want and the size that suits
your figure, all within your pre-planned budget figure. Taking the time to budget your finances and pre-plan
their wedding expenditures within this budget is one step alone that has, without a doubt, saved precious
time and prevented much anxiety, frustrations and stress for many new brides.
If you have not developed the habit, and discipline, of working and
living within a budget now is the perfect time to start. Life is full of every day challenges, especially in
the arena of finances. Those who start a marriage having learned to live within a preplanned budget are wise
indeed . . . and, over time, will find they do not have the financial stress that others may be
experiencing.
